Trivia[edit | edit source]
- It's heavily implied that the player has died many times but keeps coming back judging by both the Curious Light's and the Guiding Light's dialogues,[1] as well as with how the feature appears to be strongly connected to the Guiding Light in various ways.
- The player names every entity themselves, besides those who can name themselves, being El Goblino, Jeff, Bob, and Timothy.[2]
- This can be seen when dying to an entity for the first time, as the Guiding Light will state that "You died to who you call..."
- This seemingly excludes subfloor entities, as the Curious Light only tells names that were either thought of by itself (A-60, A-90, A-120, the Lookman, and Haste), or in the unique case of Blitz, were thought of by someone else who it simply refers to as "she".
- There is a secret where if a player either takes too long to load or the game chooses not to load their avatar (most commonly because of big avatars), they get a custom "I ❤ DOORS" merch skin.
- There are many times where the player will think to themselves:
- Prior to the Floor 2 update, interacting with the radio in Jeff's Shop would cause the player to state that "Pressing and twisting all the buttons and knobs seems to do nothing."
- When interacting with a normal painting, the player will state the title of the said painting, e.g. "This painting is titled "Perch"".
- An exception to this painting rule is the paintings leading up to Seek's chase, which, when interacted with, results in the player stating: "This isn't a painting."
- Another exception to this painting rule is the painting "Spacetime" (the Door 60 painting) which, when interacted with, results in the player stating that "This painting doesn't seem to have a title."
- There is a possibility that the player is not the first to arrive at The Hotel, as there are clumps of meat found throughout the Hotel and The Mines, potentially meaning that other people had been here and got killed.[3]
- El Goblino also once said "Oye... why do all you humans come through here anyway? What- what's so important about room 100, düd?".
- Certain badge descriptions might be seen as how the player feels about entities and gameplay.
- The player finds Ambush loud and obnoxious as seen in the "Unbound" achievement description.
- The player doesn't like dealing with Halt as seen in the "Two Steps Ahead" achievement description.
- The player hates Screech as seen in the "I Hate You" achievement description, in which they scream at it.
- The player figured out that the Crucifix wouldn't work on Figure for long in the "All Figured Out" achievement description.
- The player doesn't find Giggle's pranks funny as seen in the "Not Funny" achievement description.
- The player shows fatigue and experience of pain and numbness in their legs as seen in the "A-1000" achievement description, as they claim that they “can't feel their legs".
- The player appears to be ambidextrous, as they pick up gold and use essential items with their left hand while holding and using non-essential items in their right.
- The players have a certain amount of oxygen, if this value is under 0, they will die. The oxygen decreases in the next scenarios:
- Inside a firedamp room, the player can survive for 52.7 seconds before running out of oxygen.
- Underwater, in a flood, the player can survive for 21.25 seconds before running out of oxygen.
- Touching Seek's Goop in the Dam, the player can survive for 3.35 seconds before running out of oxygen, (although, the player will die from damage in most cases before running out of oxygen).
- If the player gets damaged by Sally. However, Sally only removes some oxygen, and the player will always survive.
- If the player isn't in any of these scenarios, the oxygen will increase up to 100 slowly (15.4 seconds to go from 0 to 100).
- The ambience of losing oxygen and after Sally's jumpscare sounds similar to ambience from Tattletail when Mama Tattletail is active.
- According to Guiding Light and Curious Light's death messages, the player starts hallucinating when picking up Glitch Fragments, causing them to see glitched entities. If glitched entities "kill" the player successfully, death messages can reveal to us that we actually died to a heart attack.
