Trivia
- The paintings are inspired by the paintings that appear on the walls in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion.
- Most of the paintings are a reference to something.
- Many paintings are parodies of famous paintings, with the characters swapped out for various game contributors.
- The Pirate Cove painting and the Ragdolls painting are a reference to Lightning Splash's other game, Ragdoll Universe.
- Rabbit in a Snow Storm actually does not have a painting at all, and instead is just the background of the painting frame as the painting it's referencing is made up of multiple different shades of white.
- The Cam Of Man painting has the hidden text "thump sucks" near the bottom of the image, likely a reference to the user ItsThump, who is featured on the Mona Thump painting and is a contributor for the game.
- The paintings "Backyard / Garden" and "Favorite Show" will always appear in the Reception.
- Some of the paintings are from r/LiminalSpace on Reddit.
- Room 60 Secret Room Painting is one of the only paintings that remain visible in dark, possibly because it is a depiction of The Curious Light.
- This painting is slightly altered when a player is using Modifiers. The painting will then depict a blue crescent moon (Guiding Light), and a red symbol, depicting the symbol of Modifiers.
- This seems to further highlight the Guiding Light and unnamed Red Light.
- The higher the knobs bonus is, the smaller the Guiding Light's icon will become and the bigger the Modifier icon becomes.
- This painting is slightly altered when a player is using Modifiers. The painting will then depict a blue crescent moon (Guiding Light), and a red symbol, depicting the symbol of Modifiers.
- When looking at the Backyard/Garden painting from afar, it looks like Pepe the Frog.
- The painting with a cat in a deserted city is a reference to the game called Stray, which is also the name of the painting itself. While the premise of the painting is overall the same as the original game, it has some notable inaccuracies.
- The game is about a cat who got lost in a technologically advanced city, which was closed off in a giant dome many years ago. The painting however, depicts a modern day city that is out in the open.
- Also in the original game, the city was left damaged and in shambles due to humans dying to a plague, and the only inhabitants left were abandoned robot companions and parasitic bugs. The painting in the hotel however, has no debris or rubble anywhere and the buildings are mostly intact, and there is also no visible signs of life apart from the cat.
- The game is about a cat who got lost in a technologically advanced city, which was closed off in a giant dome many years ago. The painting however, depicts a modern day city that is out in the open.
- As of the Hotel+ update, when encountering Seek crescendo, the "paintings" of eyes will appear. When interacted, a message will pop up saying, "This is not a painting".
- Ghostly Wowzers' favorite painting is "The Last Pizza Party." [2]
- The Deepness painting had a original version, that had two white dots on the eyes and a more accurate appearance to Depth.
- The Outlier painting and Ragdolls painting reference pieces of Ragdoll Universe fanart that are in that game's credits, the referenced fanarts were created by ChauG and Kingpig999 respectively.
- Paintings were initially planned to have an achievement for inspecting all paintings.[3]
- If the "Not a Lever" painting generates without a lever on it, it is visually identical to the "Rabbit in a Snow Storm" painting, as they are both blank paintings.
