• You can now choose an achievement to display above your head in the lobby.
• You can now see how many times you died above your head in the lobby.
• Failed room generation is now less likely to occur.
• Lights can now begin flickering up to 10 seconds after you open a door.
• Rush and Ambush now have less of a chance of spawning.
• Rush now makes the room that it spawns in a dark room, in which Screech is able to spawn.
• Ambush no longer flickers the lights.
• Ambush is now slightly faster.
• Improved the anti-cheat system.
• Changed the door sound effect.
• Changed the death screen icon.
• The Electrical Room got redesigned and players do now have to search for the circuit breaker switches.

Removed Content

• Removed one achievement
  • Rock Bottom (BEFORE HOTEL+); Escape the Hotel before The Hotel+ Update.
• Removed Vent Rooms, Mini-Libraries and H-shaped Staircase Rooms.
• Removed the light bulb on top of a door that makes a sound when opening a door.
• Removed some unused files.

Patches

January 28th, 2023 (First Patch)

• Fixed a bug where in The Electrical Room, Figure kills you even though you're in the elevator.
• Attempted to fix Glitch.
• Fixed a bug where nothing spawned or happened throughout the entire run.
• Mobile players should now have a settings button.
• Seek Crucifix animations should be fixed.
• Mobile players shouldn't randomly switch to PC controls in new runs.

January 28th, 2023 (Second Patch)

• Fixed electrical room (Figure) deaths messages being irrelevant.
• Fixed a bug where Door 90 is leading into the void.
• Fixed a Library bug.
• Fixed closets spawning into other rooms.
• Fixed Glitch weirdly teleporting you back.

January 29th, 2023 (Third Patch)

• Large Basement that spawns around 60-70 doesn't require a key anymore.
• Fixed the fireplace in The Meeting Room.
• Guiding Light should highlight keys, levers, doors, etc. after a bit over a minute.
• Fixed Node entities spawning and pathing weird.
• Fixed Green Herb.

January 30th, 2023 (Fourth Patch)

• Fixed Rush.

Trivia

• Ghostly_Wowzers has said that The Hotel+ Update was the last major update for The Hotel.
• The Hotel+ Update was eventually going to come out in December 2022, said in the teaser trailer, but due to the developers having mistaken with the release date, and shipping issues, it was later delayed to January 28/29, 2023 shown in the second trailer.
