- Pre-Run Shop

The Spotlight, formerly named Bulklight (based from its Pre-Run Shop name, still displayed^[1]) is an item that can be found in The Mines. It can be purchased from the Pre-Run Shop for 250 Knobs, be found in containers throughout The Mines, or be bought in the Jeff Shop for 300 Gold. You can also bring it to The Hotel if you store it in the Rift at the beginning or end of The Mines.

Usage[edit | edit source]

The Spotlight is a powerful light source. It has a large battery that lasts 2 minutes and 15 seconds on a full charge, and a large cone of light, which emits more light than the flashlight and straplight.

It can be used to temporarily stun the Giggles, and it used to blind and slow down Grumbles to approximately half the speed and the Queen Grumble (before the Content Update) will be slowed to a normal Grumble's speed. (Note that the Queen Grumble may still outrun the Player.)

Larger directional cone of light.
Longer range and brighter than Flashlight.
Lasts 2 minutes and 15 seconds, lasting a bit long than the Flashlight.
Can stun Giggles and slow down Grumbles at very far.
Guaranteed in both the Pre-Run Shop and Jeff's Shop.
Almost guaranteed to spawn in the first opened vine chest if the player does not have the item already.
Great light source for multiplayer.

Cons[edit | edit source]

Batteries only add up 33 seconds to its fuel time. (2/8 bar)
Can randomly flicker and turn off by itself, causing Figure to hear it.
Causes Gloombats to attack when left on.
Rare to spawn in other containers and only obtainable in The Mines.
Currently the most expensive item in the Pre-Run Shop, costing 250 Knobs.

Bugs[edit | edit source]

Grumbles and Queen Grumble are unable to be blinded with Spotlight or Flashlight. This bug started happening since The Content Update.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

The filename for the Spotlight refers to it as a flashlight skin.
- The developers often do this to hide the fact that it is actually an item.
Spotlight was formerly referred to as Handheld Flashlight due to the Spotlight having a handle.
In the trailer, albeit barely seen, it appeared 3 times, most of them being dropped on the floor.
The Spotlight is currently the most expensive pre-run shop item in the game.
The Spotlight might be a reference to the Flashlight in Ragdoll Universe, as they have a roughly similar behavior and appearance,^[2]
The Spotlight was originally referred to as the Bulklight, as seen in The Mines' Pre-Run Shop.
- Bulklight is likely an oversight. ^[3]
The Spotlight can also be obtained trading with Louie.
- The Spotlight has a guaranteed chance to be dropped by Louie when giving them a Starlight Jug.
- The Spotlight has a chance of 50% to be dropped by Louie when giving them a Starlight Bottle or a Moonlight Candle.
- The Spotlight has a chance of 33.33% to be dropped when using a Crucifix against Louie.
- The Spotlight has a chance of 33.33% to be dropped by Louie when giving them a Skeleton Key, Shears or a Gween Soda.
- The Spotlight has a chance of 25% to be dropped by Louie when giving them a Starlight Vial, an Alarm Clock, a Laser Pointer, a Shakelight or a Smoothie.
