Damage is a type of negative affliction instated by certain entities and hazards onto players. The amount of damage determines how much health is subtracted from the player's current total.
The amount of damage will differ between entities. Some entities are capable of instantly killing players, regardless of the amount of health and star shield of the player, setting their damage to infinity.
Certain entities and hazards in the game inflict "non-lethal damage", this kind of damage cannot reduce the player's health below 2 HP. Additionally, on all floors and sub-floors, all damage will become non-lethal until the first door of the floor is opened (except damage from instakills).
When a player's health is equal or less than 1 HP, they will die and can’t continue on unless revived.
