It was added in the Hotel+ update.

UsageUsage

As of writing, this item is found exclusively behind the Skull Door in the Infirmary, which appears some rooms after where Jeff's Shop is located.

The Herb can be used by any player by holding the interact key. Once used, it will provide the player some health and the passive effect of slowly regenerating their health for the entire run, which is denoted by an icon with a green leaf above the health bar. The icon will not disappear if a player has full health.

Notes

  • The only way to get rid of the effect is by dying. However, using a revive will not bring the effect back.
  • The passive regeneration effect will not help against instant-death entities such as Ambush or Rush. Likewise, it does not protect you from taking damage against entities like Dupe.
  • Healing is very slow, so players should still avoid taking damage whenever possible.
  • Referring to being affected by the plant is sometimes dubbed as "veganism" or "vegetarianism" due to their relation to health and plants.
