Side Rooms are rooms that are entered through an unnumbered door. (Not to be confused with Side Rooms that are part of a room's generation.)
Side Rooms were added in the Hotel+ Update in the form of chest rooms, but were updated in the Floor 2 Update. Side Rooms are randomly generated rooms replacing broken door or Dupe Doors.
The Hotel
Square Side Rooms
Chest Room
Commonly spawns 1-2 chests or 1 locked chest. Can also spawn a Container or a closet. These were the only Side Rooms Pre-Floor-2-Update.
Painting Room
Spawns 5 Paintings and a Container.
Square Room
Spawns with one light. It can be empty or spawn with 2 closets, a Container, or a bed, similar to the Painting Side Room and the Chest Side Room.
Other Side Rooms
Small Suite
A rectangular room with a bed and some Containers.
L Suite
L shaped room with a bed, a grandfather clock, and some Containers.
Empty L Room
Identical to the room in the T shaped room without the end door.
Bookshelf Room
A small rectangle room that has bookshelves on the far wall. The books are position so that they appear to say something
The Mines
Blocked Room
room immediately stops at a rock behind the wall. Sometimes spawns an item locker.
Dead End
Similar to the Blocked Room but goes further, commonly has Containers and can spawn with a minecart track.
Minecart Loop Room
A loop room with a circular minecart track. You can make the minecart go very fast in this room with 2 people.
Ladder Room
The Room opens into a ladder that goes up. At the top, there can be Containers here.
Shears Side Rooms
Empty Shears Room
Has a tunnel that leads into a very small grass room with an opening above. This room is empty.
Small Shears Room
Has a tunnel that leads into a small grass room with an opening at the top. There are two vine covered chests here. Shears can't spawn here.
Large Shears Room
Has a tunnel that leads into a grass room with an opening at the top. There are two vine covered chests and a wooden item locker. Shears spawn here.
The Backdoor

Trivia
- Side Rooms commonly spawn in the dupe room, the tight hallway and the H junction.
- Some unnumbered doors aren't the Side Rooms that this article is talking about. This is because they are part of a room generation and aren't random.
- A good example are the variants of the plus junction and L room that has the rooms in the corners.
- There is a common bug with the Bookshelf Room where the bookshelves don't load in and all the books float.
