The Chasm is a room in The Mines that spawns once between rooms 110 and 114, and is also where the player encounters Figure after escaping from The Hotel for the first time. Figure will be seen falling through a hatch from a pipe, and lands, to start patrolling the caverns below. It is noted that the Figure in this room is not harmful in any way and will not respond to the player whatsoever, even if they throw down a glowstick, which normally would alert it.

The chasm is a large, enclosed space in caves with a very large ceiling. There is a flat surface at the bottom of the chasm, on which there are cabinets, fragments of rails. and large stones and cobblestones of gray and red color. There are two ledges on top, forming the second floor. The first ledge is the one through which the player came through to this room, and the other is at the opposite end of the room. Both ledges are connected by two minecart roads with minecarts on them that serve as bridges, which are the only way to get ahead.

On top there are many pipes with a lid in the form of a lattice, which the Figure breaks, falling to the lower floor. This is Figure's first appearance in "The Mines".

Also on the ledges you can find empty small wooden toolboxes, which are always empty, and you can also see metal cases.

The point of the location is to tell the player that Figure is in The Mines, but is a minor entity rather than a major boss like in the previous floor. There are a lot of toolboxes in this room compared to others.
Figure is harmless during this first encounter, as you are unable to fall off or go down to the Chasm's bottom.

The point of the location is to present you with the first appearance of the Figure, showing that it is now on the same floor as you, but without causing harm (so far). Also there are a lot of metal cases, there are always items in them and you will be able to stock up on items quite well.
In order to pass the room, the player needs to walk over bridges blocked by minecarts. This again implies the importance of minecarts throughout the floor and how the player can use them to advance.

* The Figure will continue growling in the chasm until the room is unloaded.
In order to pass the room, you need to over the "bridges" you need to move the minecarts that occupy the path, however, you can only push them forward, so just go forward by pressing the E key.
* The Figure will not become angry, unlike all appearances of the entity throughout the floor. This includes walking, throwing Glowsticks, and tossing Alarm Clocks.
* The chasm will have a protective wall made by Guiding Light, although the Figure cannot reach the player.

Going over the right bridge is faster as the minecart at the end is on the left side and the minecart you push on the left will hit it slowing you down.
Bugs Bugs
* At a specific point on the track in the first room, all minecarts will spin 360° and then continue moving.
* Sometimes, this room will become dark, this is likely caused by a bug or rush in previous rooms.

Trivia
The Festering Meat Cave is a location where the second Figure encounter takes place in The Mines.

*The Figure will continue growling in the chasm until it is unloaded after five doors.
Overview Overview
*The Figure will not become angry if you don't crouch or use a light or anything else that would typically make noise. This includes throwing Glowsticks down and using the Alarm Clock. This may be because Figure is not looking for prey, rather he is wondering where he is.
The Festering Meat Cave is a room that can take place between rooms 120-124 in The Mines. It is the second encounter with Figure, the first being in The Chasm. There are spots with a meat-like substance around the room, as well as a good chance of containing a sub-room.

Notes
* Since there is no warning as to the presence of this room, players are very likely to anger Figure when they first enter the room.
** It is recommended to hide behind Guiding Light<nowiki/>'s barrier until Figure loses interest and continues walking around.
* If a player opens a Dupe door, Figure will instantly be targeted at said players location, because of this it is recommended you listen for Dupe before opening a door.
* If Gloombats are present, Figure will catch them out of the air and eat them.
* If a player brings a Giggle into the room while it's on their face, when Giggle falls of the players face, Figure will come and crush the Giggle.
* Figure will continuously roam around the room.
* Guiding Light will prevent Figure from exiting the room.

The Generator Cave is the third encounter with Figure and appears in The Sewers after The Nest. It is also the last time the player will encounter Figure in The Mines.

Overview Overview
The Generator Cave is a large circular room with a metal fence along the loop. At the end of the far right side is a large metal gate and a button. The Generator is located in the center part through a crawl space. Figure enters the room from a pipe in the roof of the cave similar to the first encounter.

Door Walkthrough
Upon recognizing the cave, it is recommend to either get out or crouch before Figure gets in. When ready, search the cave for Fuses. If close enough Figure can hear when you open Containers and will start chasing you. Because of this it is recommended that you wait for Guiding Light to appear to avoid opening unnecessary Containers while also making sure Figure is far enough away that they won't hear you. When you have all the Fuses put them in the Generator through the crawlspace.

Trivia Trivia
* Before the first mines nerf, this room was supposed to spawn around room 130-134.
* This cave has no warning of its presence so players are likely to anger Figure when entering the cave. Since Figure takes a while to enter through the ceiling, players can recognize the large circular layout of the cave and get out before Figure is active.
* The far right side of the cave gets significantly lower and darker around the end.
* Figure can't get the players when they are inside the Generator room in the center.
* The sound of the gate opening doesn't alert Figure.
* Before the Floor 2 was nerfed, this room came before The Nest.
* This encounter is much harder, not just because you are forced to navigate around Figure longer, but because you are forced to open Containers to get the Fuses which can cause Figure to hear.
* Hide and Heartbeat Control Minigame is just as active in this room as regular. Be careful while hiding.
** The same goes for the other encounters.
* There is a rare chance that you will not encounter this room in your run.
