''Library Books'' are vibrantly-colored books that contain a shape and number inside of them. These same shapes can appear on the [[Solution Paper]], and both combined give the code to the lock in The Library. ''Library Books'' are usually found surrounded by other, unreadable books. To combat this, they are usually at a slight angle compared to other books, while also emitting a faint glowing sound, and surely being highlighted by the [[Guiding Light]].

Pressing {{Key|E}} (on PC), {{Xbox|X|size=24px}} (on Xbox), or the [[Controls|interact button]] (on mobile) will make the player pull the ''Library Book'' off the shelf and read the contents. After they finish, the ''Library Book'' will be discarded from the player's inventory, and the contained hint will be shown on the left of the screen.

===Notes===
*''Library Books'' emit a faint glowing sound, similar to the sound [[Room Key|room keys]] make. This can make it easier to know for a player if there is a book on an aisle simply by having their volume up.
*Eight ''Library Books'' can be found in The Library. However, only five digits are required to unlock the door.
**To complete the code without guessing, all eight ''Library Books'' need to be found, as the last ''Library Book'' always contains the last digit. This is also true for [[2023 April Fools Event|Super Hard Mode]].
*Reading a ''Library Book'' does not make noise and won't attract [[Figure]]. 
*Each ''Library Book'' the player reads makes Figure slightly faster; Figure cannot be outrun after collecting 3-4 ''Library Books'' and is nearly impossible to evade with all eight ''Library Books'' collected. 
*The ''Library Book'''<nowiki/>''s'' locations and codes, as well as the code for the Lock, are always randomized.

*Collected books will show a portrait of the player who collected them next to its hint in multiplayer. This will not show up for the player who collected it.
*In Normal mode, there are a total of 8 books, however this number has been increased in [[2023 April Fools Event|Super Hard Mode]] to 14,<!-- verify because I don't remember too well --> along with adding five more digits to the [[Solution Paper]].
*The animation that plays when collecting a ''Library Book'' is purely cosmetic. Unequipping the ''Library Book'' will still add the digit. Likewise, a player can collect multiple ''Library Books'' at once, and all digits will be recorded.
