In Doors, the two variations exist (the Lobby and Mining elevators.)
Overview
The Lobby elevator is a device used to access Floor 1 (the Hotel.) It resembles a typical elevator, with a metal grate, as well as two sliders. Up to four players can be inside an elevator at one time, although this is expanded to 12 in private servers.
The Mining elevator is in Room 100. It can be utilized once the Circuit puzzle has been completed. It resembles a typical mining/freight elevator. Inside are lamps, crates, and the Electrical Room Key.
Lobby Elevators
These are the first elevators the player can encounter. They can be found in the Lobby and the Reception. (the first room in the Hotel) Up to four people can fit inside at one time (this is expanded to twelve in private servers) and a countdown will begin. Once it reaches zero, the player(s) will be teleported into a different server, where the actual game takes place.
When spawned in, the player will find themselves in a cramped elevator. To the right are a set of buttons, along with one that glows. When this is pressed, it will take the player immediately to the Reception. Elevator Jam is the soundtrack that plays while inside.
Mining Elevator
This elevator is encountered in Room 100, past the sliding doors. In order to utilize it, the Circuit Puzzle must be completed. Once the player has safely reached the elevator and starts descending, Figure will jump down and attempt to attack the player. While the player is unreachable, the elevator cable is broken. Figure is knocked into a mysterious room and the player plummets downwards. The screen fades to black, and the player's fate is left uncertain.
Trivia
- Despite the maximum players allowed to fit in an elevator being 12, it is discouraged to play with groups past four, as hiding spaces become an issue, especially in Room 99.
- The Mining Elevator will most likely be the starting location of Floor 2.
- Considering the Mining Elevator resembles an old mine elevator, it can be assumed the next floor will take place in a mine shaft.
