The Three Architects are the lights you see in The Backdoor, The Hotel, and The Rooms, being Curious Light and Guiding Light. The Third Light has no confirmed/known name.

Guiding Light

Guiding Light is the first light that helps players to beat the game and highlights progressive items/objects such as Room Keys, Levers, Library Books and Circuit Breakers Switches. It also highlights doors in dark rooms if the player doesn't have any light source and highlights the doors during the Seek chase.

The Crucifix that is used on entities is powered by Guiding Light, which is why the Crucifix doesn't work in The Rooms, along with the Candle.

Guiding Light emits sound/light while the Third Light doesn't.

Guiding Light's symbol could be the Moonlight symbol in the modifiers painting, at the entrance to The Rooms.

Found in:

  1. The Lobby (Tower Heroes Event only)
  2. The Hotel
  3. The Mines

Curious Light

Curious Light is the second light who helps players, but with less information about entities and doesn't highlight anything. (Excluding A-000 Door, EXIT Door from The Rooms sub-floor and Door 000 in The Backdoor).

Curious Light emits sound/light similar to Guiding Light while the Third Light doesn't.

Curious Light's symbol could be the Starlight symbol.

Found in:

  1. The Backdoor
  2. The Hotel (Door entrance only)
  3. The Rooms

Unknown Red Light

Third Light is a unknown light with no known name, that was not explicitly shown in the game but it is theorized that it is going against players, being shown when the Crucifix fails on banishing Seek and Figure. Although there is not too much proof, it could possibly be Mischievous Light from the Tower Heroes Event.

The Third Light doesn't emit sound like Curious Light and Guiding Light do.

The Third Light's symbol could be the Modifiers symbol.

It is also nicknamed Rebellious Light or Mischievous Light by some community members.

The third symbol is found in the painting in the The Rooms’ entrance room, which there are 3 symbols. One of them is the modifier symbol only visible with modifiers on.

Found in:

  1. The Hotel
  2. Possibly The Mines (Unconfirmed)

Trivia

  • During The Library cutscene, Guiding Light most likely broke the lamp to distract Figure. This is proven by Guiding Light's sparkles on the lamp after the cutscene. While it is unconfirmed, during the Tower Heroes event, the third light MIGHT HAVE spoken.
    • Guiding Light also likely closed the door at the end of the Seek chase sequence to save the player.
  • The Three Architects page name is from the banishing floor's weird text when the Crucifix is used.

Theory

  • Curious Light / Starlight was supposed to be the Guiding Light, but it was more curious about other things than guiding players. Guiding Light / Moonlight came and has became one of The Three Architects to assist players since it is more helpful than Curious Light. (Unconfirmed)
  • Curious Light and Guiding Light probably wants the player to escape the DOORS Universe so the player can be safe.
  • However, the Third Light probably doesn't like players, and therefore tries to hinder their attempts to escape and protects Figure and Seek from the crucifix. (Unconfirmed)
    • This may be why it doesn't show itself to players often, and instead prefers to stay hidden while working against them.
  • The good modifiers such as Good Time, Didn't Skip Leg Day and more could possibly be created by Guiding Light or Curious Light. (Unconfirmed)
  • Similarly, the bad modifiers such as Bad Time, Rush Hour, Again and Again and Again, and more could have been created by the Third Light. (Unconfirmed)
