'''The Greenhouse''' is a location in the [[Hotel]], composed of Rooms 90-99 (although it can start 3 rooms earlier before the [[The Courtyard|Courtyard]]), which serves as the final hurdle before [[Room 100]]. It is arguably the hardest section of the Hotel, as certain entities will appear more frequently, and all of the rooms are dark, allowing [[Screech]] to spawn and making [[Rush]] harder to detect before its arrival. It also contains the [[Snare]], an exclusive entity that stuns players temporarily.

''The Greenhouse'', as its moniker suggests, is a vast structure heavily resembling a greenhouse, identified by the windows that dot the ceiling and walls, as well as the vines that coat the walls. In addition; tables that are covered in dirt are shown to present plants atop them, further confirming the structure. Much more crudely made [[closets]] are dotted around each room, similar to a cupboard, with similar closets also appearing in The Electrical Room, providing a hiding spot if Rush is present. Each room appears nearly identical to each other, only occasionally branching off into L-shaped and T-shaped rooms.

''The Greenhouse'' contains no light sources and heavy downpours. There is an exclusive entity in these rooms named Snare, which stuns players who step on them temporarily, while damaging 10 health with every trap until 1 health if it is lethal. [[Eyes]] and Rush spawn more frequently here, making this stretch more challenging. Despite Eyes helping to illuminate a room, it can still pose as a fatal trap to those unaware of its presence or harmful effect. Rush will have no flicker warning (due to the absence of lights) during its run, making sound and the [[candle]] the only methods for players to account for its presence (though the Candle will be useless if Eyes are present). Along with heavy rainfalls covering the sound of Rush, detecting it will be more difficult. Finally, as mentioned earlier, all the rooms in the ''Greenhouse'' are dark, making Screech occasionally spawn more frequently. [[Ambush]] can rarely spawn here.

* It is heavily recommended to have a light source since the rooms are always dark, and [[Snare]] can appear in these rooms.
** A [[flashlight]] or a [[shakelight]] is the most recommended since they can scan the player's surroundings further than a [[Lighter]].
** The [[candle]], though being a subpar light source, possesses a unique ability that can signal the player when an entity has spawned in (i.e. Rush, Screech or Eyes) when entering a new room.
**[[Guiding Light]] can also act like a light source. However, it only lights up the doors.
* Evading Rush by approaching the nearest closet each time a player enters a room while avoiding Snare is advised, as there is no forewarning due to the absence of lights.
** If a player is caught by Snare, the use of a [[crucifix]] may grant an evasion from Rush, though players cannot hold it while trapped, and it is not automatically equipped.
*** A simpler way to get the Crucifix other than buying from [[Jeff|Jeff's]] Shop is by finding it in a bedroom with the grandfather clock between the two beds underneath the light. This trick allows players to obtain and use a Crucifix more than once per game, although they need to find or buy another one to use it again.

If Rush passes, stay near the closet, and wait to see if Rush is coming again, if it is, repeat the process, if not, go to the next Room. You might need to hold a light source to ward off Screech, Candles can also work here, and can help this process a lot.
*It is quite recommended to enter the greenhouse when on low graphics.
**This is due to lightning lasting longer than lightning on high graphics. This trick may help you out avoiding snare also.

=== Super Hard Mode Modifications ===

* Some ''Greenhouse'' rooms have less closets than normal, some may have no closets at all.
* The room layouts and garden beds have been rearranged.
* [[2023 April Fools Event|Jeff the Killer]] is guaranteed to spawn at least once in ''the'' ''Greenhouse'' section.
* There is a rare chance of a special maze room appearing at least once in ''the Greenhouse''.
** [[Eyes]] can still spawn in the maze room.

* ''The Greenhouse'' will always start at Door 90 and end at Door 99, with The Courtyard beforehand at Door 89.
** Though in rare cases, one or two ''Greenhouse'' rooms can spawn before entering the Courtyard. They will mostly appear at Door 89, forcing the Courtyard to spawn in a later door, appearing in between the rooms.
*** With this information, it is suggested that Door 89 and onwards has been set to be a ''Greenhouse'' variant, even when it is before the Courtyard.
** There is a bug where Door 90 will be a normal hotel room, and the ''Greenhouse'' starts at Door 91.
** There is also a bug where the room after the Courtyard can be a normal room without closets, but Rush will still spawn.
* Rush can spawn in the next room it opens, due to the higher rate of spawning. Due to this, players may still have to stay cautious.
** Technically, two instances of Rush can be present for a brief moment, though can't be seen together, as one is about to despawn after reaching the door while the latter only just spawned, though this will not most likely be the case if the next Rush spawns late.
* The previous rooms starting from the Courtyard will despawn immediately after opening one or two doors in ''The Greenhouse''.
* It is likely that the scrapped item [[Shears|garden shears]] were going to be utilized within this area of the game to cut vines which would prevent the player from progressing.
* Players won't be able to [[Revive]] once they enter the first Greenhouse room, which is at Door 90.
* During the release of the Hotel+ Update, a bug was commonly present where The Courtyard would not spawn, which is the entrance to ''the'' ''Greenhouse''. This will lead to a softlock.
** This has since been patched, though ''Greenhouse'' rooms can spawn before the Courtyard.
* The entity [[Snare]] is exclusive to ''The Greenhouse''.
** Additionally, two or more Snares can spawn in the same room.
* The closets that spawn in this area are noticeably different from those throughout the Hotel, having a rural design.

* There is a way to avoid [[Screech]] in the Greenhouse, which is going into a [[Hiding|closet]] after hearing it's sound cue, despawning the entity. This is a feature added in with the Hotel+ Update.
** This is possibly due to balancing reasons, as to not have Screech spawn in the closet when hiding from Rush.
** Despite this, Screech may spawn when Rush spawned. If the player is running to a closet, this may be fatal.
* Rush and [[Eyes]] can spawn at the same time.
* There is a rare glitch where [[Halt]] would spawn in ''the Greenhouse.''
** The room, however, will not be Halt's hallway, instead, players have to avoid Halt in a ''Greenhouse'' room until the next door is open. This room bug also has a high chance to spawn whenever encountering Halt, but in the ''Greenhouse'', the rooms has been set to be Greenhouse rooms.
** Rush and Eyes can spawn along Halt's presence, which can be lethal.
*** Screech and Eyes can also be a threat, since Screech can be right in front of Eyes.
* [[Void]] can teleport you earlier than usual.
* The ambience in the greenhouse can be found [https://www.roblox.com/library/9114625745/Gods-Wind-Spooky-Eerie-2-SFX here], the in-game version is sped-up to a pitch of around 1.25-1.5.
* After the lever is pulled at Room 100, the door shuts close, meaning that you cannot go back to ''The Greenhouse'' once the lever is pulled and Figure is active.
