USER RIGHTS POLICY
The User rights policy is a guideline for editors wanting to know about the process of acquiring local extended rights on the DOORS Wiki. User rights are condensed to user right groups, which give the user a set of permissions like deleting pages and blocking users.
The User rights policy was last revised on 3 March 2023. It is subject to change at anytime.
Acquiring extended user rights
The DOORS Wiki and its administrators give users extended user rights only via applications that are announced and temporarily open for 3~ days. Only the threadmoderator
and rollback
user rights groups can be given via applications, the rest require the user to be in the staff team.
Application process
Applications only open when the staff team needs any more staff. They typically are open for 3 days before closure and reviewal. Accepted users will be informed and given their rights as soon as the staff team agrees on a selected batch, results will be announced in discussions as well.
Discussions Moderators (threadmoderator
) are independent of the rest of the staff as they operate on the discussions page and comments, having their own application. A user willing to be a Discussions Moderator should have:
- No major or numerous infractions (e.g. harassment...)
- Drama is included, any participation in such ordeals outside of de-escalation is discouraged.
- Decent amount of posts, known in the community (100~ posts)
- Has reported inappropriate posts before with a majority of them being deleted
- Has been active over the past week(s).
Rollbackers (rollback
) generally count as "interns" for fact-checking and Manual of Style enforcement, seeing how dedicated they are before promoting them to Content Moderator. A user willing to be a Rollbacker should have:
- No major or numerous infractions (e.g. vandalism...)
- Decent amount of edits (100~ non-userpage edits)
- Orientated themselves around the Project:Manual of Style and editing etiquette
- Has been active over the past week(s).
Further user rights
Acquiring user rights groups past Content Moderator requires the user to be a Rollbacker and perform rollbacks to show independency and knowledge of the wiki's rules. There is no exact process to obtaining Content Moderator and beyond other than administrator consensus.
Grounds for demotion
For a user with extended rights to be demoted, the responsible administrator/bureaucrat must have a probable cause, commonly being:
- Abuse of extended rights for self-benefit, vandalization etc.
- 6 month long inactivity without notice to administrators/bureaucrats
- Incompetence and/or unwillingness to prevent incidents
