They can offer various advantages to the user, such as making dark rooms easier or getting rid of a certain entity temporarily. They do not save the next time you enter a run (unless you placed said item in a rift) and can only be used in the run you bought or found them in. They are obtained through containers, such as drawers, or you can easily find them in the Admin Panel. Once you find an item and pick it up, it will be added into your inventory. Additionally, some items can be purchased through the Pre-Run Shop or bought at Jeff's Shop.

Trivia

• There are currently 30 items that can be found in-game on all floors.
  • There are 7 event-exclusive items and 1 removed item, as of October 24.
  • In total, DOORS has 38 items as of October 24.
• Players can currently pick up and store a maximum of 6 items into your inventory. however picking up essential items such as Room Keys will bypass this.
• Players can drop items by pressing X on PC.
  • On mobile, players can drop items by holding the item's inventory icon for an extended period of time.

DOORS participated in The Haunt, which added Candy, a new item obtainable through a modifier.

August 30, 2024

In the Floor 2 Update, 11 new items were added, which are the Possessed Candle, Alarm Clock, Shears, Glowstick, Straplight, Spotlight, Laser Pointer, Battery Pack, Bandage Pack, Jug of Starlight (The NVCS-3000 was replaced by this item.) and Fuses. The Retro Room Key was removed.

April 1, 2024

During the 2024 April Fools Event, the Retro Room Key was added.

March 15, 2024

In The Backdoor Update, 3 new items were added, which are the Vial of Starlight, Bottle of Starlight and the Backdoor Room Key.

April 1, 2023

During the 2023 April Fools Event Update, 3 new items were added, which were the Holy Hand Grenade, Mini Shield Potion and Shield Potion. These got removed temporarily when the event ended.

January 29, 2023

During the Hotel+ Update, 6 new items were added, which are the Candle, Crucifix, Skeleton Key, Shakelight, Circuit Breaker Switches and the NVCS-3000.

During the release, 11 items were added, which are the Flashlight, Lockpick, Vitamins, Lighter, Room Key, Solution Paper, Library Book, Puzzle Painting, Electrical Room Key, Batteries and Bandages.
